A lunch reception will follow.
Dr. Tom Clark, professor of mathematics at ý, will deliver the undergraduate commencement address, titled “Let’s Go Exploring!” Clark’s address will draw on Jesus’ image of being “yeast in the dough,” encouraging graduates to consider how their presence can bring life and transformation in the communities they enter.
The graduate commencement and hooding ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium. This ceremony recognizes students who have completed their master’s degrees, many of whom have balanced their studies alongside careers, family responsibilities, and other commitments. Donald Roth, J.D., professor of business and criminal justice, will serve as the graduate commencement speaker. His address, titled “Soli Deo Gloria,” will explore the idea of glory as “excellence made manifest.”
“This can inspire our education and lives in ways that go beyond surface-level gestures,” says Roth. “My challenge to our graduates is to see that our calling to glorify God is a calling to embody—to make manifest—the excellence of the God we image.”
