The ������ý Gallery Program will host “In His Side,” an exhibit by artist Misty Bedwell, in the Campus Center Art Gallery from October 9 through November 10, 2023. A reception with the artist will be held over Defender Days on Friday, October 27 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. with an artist talk at 4:45 p.m.

Bedwell’s exhibit uses mixed media and acrylic painting to help viewers experience Christ’s presence and love in a unique way, through the side of Jesus, his blood, and his wounds.

An artist from Vancouver, Canada, Bedwell discovered the closeness of God’s presence through incorporating worship and prayer into her work.

"Some piece might only catch your glance for a moment to remember him," says Bedwell in her artist statement, "but perhaps you might also take home a witness to your own process: We have all been weary wanderers aiming to find a way away from the mundane, closer to purpose, closer to God. So come and put your hands into his side...and believe."
