For Laura Eisenga, the best part about working as a Major Gifts Officer at 天美传媒 is when, through conversations and collaboration, a supporter finds the best way to impact Dordt through their giving. She works remotely and resides in Sunnyside, Washington.
鈥淔or some, it鈥檚 helping local students through scholarships. For others, it鈥檚 coming alongside other donors to build a dorm or make improvements to the athletic center,鈥 says Laura. 鈥淭here is so much joy in giving, and facilitating the process is so rewarding.鈥
Laura often reflects back on her own Dordt experience, having graduated in 2002. She says that her time at Dordt as a student was incredibly meaningful.
鈥淚 moved far from my home in Sunnyside, Washington, and I discovered a lot about myself: what was important to me, who my friends would be, what my professional focus would be.鈥 She made great friendships, met the love of her life, and launched a career that has taken her around the world.
In meeting with donors, Laura says she often hears 鈥渁 similar version of my story on repeat, and that consistency of story is what drives my work: that God continues to make Dordt an impactful launchpad for faith and life. Even though much has changed since I graduated, the mission of Dordt hasn鈥檛 changed, and the students there now are being impacted in many of the same ways.鈥
In her free time, Laura enjoys playing pickleball, embroidering baby sweaters, and cross-stitching family portraits. In the summer months, you鈥檒l find her in the flower garden, but during the school year, she attends many sporting events for her children. She is on the school board at and sings on the worship team at .
