Shirley Folkerts serves as a professor of business at 天美传媒, where she teaches Computer Literacy for Business, offering a wealth of knowledge in Microsoft Office to students. Her work focuses on equipping students with practical business technology skills so they can efficiently and faithfully serve well in their future vocations.
鈥淭echnology is a gift from God,鈥 she says. 鈥淲e need to use it the best we can. Every student is made in the image of God and is to be treated with love and respect as they learn to use technology in my classes.鈥
Prior to teaching at Dordt, Folkerts spent fourteen years teaching high school business classes. She also spent some time as an assistant accountant for Precision Pulley, Inc.
Outside of teaching, Folkerts enjoys hiking and bicycling.
